FAQ
Common questions
Do any of these need WiFi or an app?
No. Everything in our core range is standalone — battery powered, no account, no subscription, no hub. A few driveway alarms offer an optional app but work fine without one.
Will this damage my door or wall?
Most of what we sell doesn't. Door bars brace against the floor. Alarms are peel-and-stick. Portable locks slot into the existing strike plate. If a product does require screws, we say so on the product page.
I'm renting. What can I use?
Most of the catalogue. Door bars, portable locks, wedge alarms, stick-on window sensors and dummy cameras all leave no marks and come with you when you move. See Travel, Hotel & Dorm.
Will a door security bar actually stop someone?
It will stop the door opening under normal force and it will make a lot of noise if someone tries. It will not stop a determined person with tools and time. Its value is delay and noise — both of which end most opportunistic attempts.
Do fake security cameras work?
On opportunists, often yes. On someone who has specifically chosen your house, no. Use them as one layer, not your only one.
How loud is 120dB really?
Roughly a chainsaw at close range. Indoors it is genuinely startling and audible through a closed door.
What's your shipping time?
1-2 business days to process, then typically 7-15 business days to arrive. Free on every order. See Shipping.
What if it doesn't work for me?
30 days, full refund, no argument. See Returns.
Do I need a monitored security system?
Depends what you want. Self-installed products alert you and deter intruders. A monitored system alerts someone else who can dispatch help when you can't. If you're often away, travel a lot, or want a response rather than just a warning, monitoring is worth looking at.
